Youth Programs //Youtheatre Series //Syracuse Youth Jazz Festival //Home

The Michael Harms Theatre Festival is a program of the Cultural Resources Council supported, in part, with funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, Onondaga County, and the Michael Harms Memorial Fund of the CNY Community Foundation. The Festival's mission is to enhance the study of theater arts at the secondary level by creating a showcase for the theatrical skills of students and teachers; to provide a learning experience in a professional setting, and to provide guidance and insight in the professional field of theater.

Michael Harms Theatre Festival will be held March 29-30, 2008

Performances are FREE and open to the public.

Give Your Students an Experience to Remember...

* Students gain the experience of working with professionals in the field; from IATSE Stage hands to professional directors and choreographers.

* Each group has a scheduled tech session to set lighting & sound cues, to spike set and props; etc.

* Each group performs for our panel of judges and peers and then receives critiques and comments from our panel.

* Scholarships and awards totaling over $3,000 are distributed for individual and ensemble work at an awards dinner and reception upon commencement of the festival.
