Cultural Resources Council offers a variety of funding possibilities that can be customized to satisfy individual financial and philanthropic wishes.

This page describes a few of the available funding possibilities and how they can be used to structure your gift. Our Director of Development will be happy to meet with you, your attorney, your accountant, and/or your professional financial advisor, with no obligation, to explain how these strategies can work for you. Contact our Development Office at 315.435.2161.

The Council recommends that you consult with your attorney or financial advisors when considering making a major or planned gift.

Become a CRC Partner

With the special Artist Partner ($35) and Arts Community Partner ($50) levels, the Council helps create a mutually supportive arts community where artists, arts organizations, galleries and museums, art schools and arts venues can support the Council and receive valuable benefits.

A Cash Donation
Making a tax-deductible contribution to the Council with cash, check or credit card is the easiest way to support the Council’s programs. We do appreciate each and every donation. No donation is too small. Everyone does make a difference.

The United Way
If you or your employer contributes to the United Way, you can direct your donation to the Cultural Resources Council. It is a great way to support the cultural community without committing to any additional giving. Call us and we'll help you through this simple process.

Matching Gifts
Many companies offer programs that match the charitable contributions of both employees and retirees.  Your employer’s human resources department can provide you with the details of your company’s plan. Please check with your company for matching programs and help make your gifts go further.

Honor Gifts and Memorial Tribute
A unique way to make a gift is by giving in honor of someone special. Perhaps to celebrate an achievement, or in memory of a loved one who has passed away. Without reference to the amount of the gift, the Cultural Resources Council will send a personal acknowledgment to the individual or to the family being honored informing them of your generous gesture. You will also receive an acknowledgment card for your tax records.

Planned & Legacy Giving

  • Founders Club: Become a member of the Founders Club and spread your giving across the year.  Monthly givers provide important and consistent support to the Council.  Complete and return the Founders Club form by fax to 315.435.2160 or mail it to the Cultural Resources Council, 411 Montgomery St, Syracuse, NY 13202.
  • Gifts of Stock: A gift of stock (or other appreciated property) entitles the donor to a tax deduction for the market value of the donated stock. If the stock you wish to donate has been held for more than one year, you can avoid capital gains tax on any appreciation of the stock by donating the stock prior to sale. The Cultural Resources Council benefits by selling the stock without paying taxes on the gain, and you benefit from making a contribution that would be larger than what you might have been able to donate in cash.
  • Bequests: Express your personal values beyond your lifetime.  Indicate a specific dollar amount or portion of your estate, or name the Cultural Resources Council as your residual beneficiary.  A bequest may reduce the taxable portion of your estate.
