Documenting and Presenting Your Own

Community

Presented by:
Dan Ward, Folklorist

As the world we know becomes more replaced by

identical big box stores and chain restaurants we

grow concerned for the authentic local culture

that is lost to this non-local sameness.  In this

workshop, folklorist Dan Ward examines the ways

that we can document our own local communities

through photography and oral history projects and

ways that we can then utilize our documentation

to increase appreciation for that which is still

uniquely ours.  Topics will include: what to

collect, what types of questions to ask and what

to do with the documentation once you have it.
